Water hardness by postcode, do you live in a hard water area?
1st June 2020The simple answer is yes.
Most people require their water softening system to provide softened water to the whole of the home. To achieve this is usually quite simple. We will locate the water softener at the incoming water source (as close to your stop tap as possible). This ensures all water that then enters your home will become softened, every shower, bath, basin, and water using the appliance. Therefore your whole house will benefit from being Limescale free.
There can sometimes be exceptions to this at a customer’s request. For example, although softened water is perfectly safe to drink, some customers prefer the taste of hard water. We can ensure we either fit a hard water drinking tap or can keep their original cold tap on hard water. Making up the baby formula with artificially softened water is also not recommend so again leaving a hard water option is necessary for some families. Likewise, many of our Green-fingered customers will ask us to keep their outdoor taps on hard water, as plants prefer it, and using large quantities in the garden will increase the overall running costs of your water softener.
